What do I need to use the Swissquote TWINT app?

To use the Swissquote TWINT app, you need a Swissquote Account at Swissquote Bank Ltd (Switzerland) and a smartphone with:

  • the latest version of the Swissquote Trading app
  • iOS (Version 13.0 and above) or Android (Version 7 or above) operating system
  • Bluetooth (Version 4.0 or above).
  • a Swiss phone number (same as the one linked to the Swissquote account)
How much does TWINT cost?

The Swissquote TWINT app is generally free. Transactions via the Swissquote TWINT app are always free, regardless of whether you are paying a merchant or sending money to another TWINT user. In exceptional cases, charges may be levied by certain partners, for example for cash withdrawals or for ticketless parking.

How do I register for the Swissquote TWINT app?

Download the Swissquote TWINT app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store. You will be smoothly guided through the registration process when you open the app for the first time. Please contact our Customer Care Center at any time should you have any questions.

Can I use the Swissquote TWINT app on multiple devices?

You cannot use it on more than one device at once. Should you wish to use the app on different devices, you need to log in again on each device to sign in to your existing account.

Can I pay money into my Swissquote account via TWINT?

Yes, you can. If you use more than one TWINT app, please note that you must define one of these apps as the standard one for receiving and/or transferring remittances. You can do this in the TWINT app settings. You can read more about this here.

Can I use more than one TWINT app?

Yes, you can. You can install and use more than one TWINT app on the same smartphone, such as the TWINT prepaid app and the Swissquote TWINT app. If you have accounts at different two different banks, you can also install and use both TWINT apps. If you use more than one TWINT app, please note that you must define one of these apps as the standard one for receiving remittances.

I have forgotten my TWINT PIN / TWINT password. What can I do?

What should I do if I get a new mobile phone number?

Open your Swissquote TWINT app and tap on the three dots or lines in the top-right or top-left corner, then tap “Settings” > “Personal details”. You can change your personal details here. When you change your details, TWINT will verify your identity again. If you change your phone number, you will receive a code via SMS. You will then be asked by the app to enter this code, in order for us to check that your new phone number is correct.

What are the limits on the Swissquote Twint app?

The monthly expenditure limit is CHF 5’000 in total. This amount is divided between the money sent to your contacts –up to CHF 2’000–, and payments in stores –up to CHF 3’000–. As regards receiving money, the monthly limit totals CHF 4’000. Each transaction conducted using the Swissquote TWINT app has a ceiling of CHF 2’000 for sending money to one of your contacts, and of CHF 3’000 for a payment in a store.
